Together with some dear colleagues we are working on a new project. what do you think about the relationship between green chemistry and circular economy models applied to the clothing industry?
Environmental and human health impacts associated with chemical production and losses from value chains make the current linear produce-use-dispose model no longer an option for chemicals. Based on our analysis herein,
I don't have a specific answer but there is a lot of work being done on all stages of a product's life cycle in the fashion industry. There are a number of examples that can be found here: https://fashionforgood.com/innovation-platform/ and filter for projects under "Raw Materials" and "End of Use." If you're ever in Amsterdam, the Netherlands you should checkout their museum "Fashion for Good."
Green chemistry will be basis for all MFG and service industries in the future .. The basic principle of green chemistry is to get rid of Non environmental friendly chemicals and substances from the design stage . regarding the Fashion industry is subject to clothing MFG and wear .. Green chemistry has a vital role to play right from concept to usage .
There are also programs or case studies in this area, including circular economy applications. Here is one at the Parsons School of Design: https://www.newschool.edu/parsons/fashion-sustainability-certificate/
Copenhagen School of Business: https://www.coursera.org/learn/sustainable-fashion; Sustainable Fashion: https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/301138773.pdf

Green chemistry is the basis of the circular economy, however many people have taken advantage of it to make up polluting practices, it is always necessary and first for each area to establish the balance table of substances emitted into the environment (water, air, land), Table of substances used and to know if it is possible to replace by those that are degradable in a natural way, this relating to the geographical place where it is carried out, since the conditions of a geographical wall are not always similar to those of another area. It is important to draw up a table of the industry and populations settled in the part of influence ... in other words, each case is particular even more if one considers the geo-customs of human settlements, and the basic green chemistry education that is it must matter.
Green chemistry is the chemistry that-Doesn't hurt nature, Reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances, Provides more eco friendly alternative, Prevents formation of waste, Creates new knowledge based on sustainability
