The summary is the most read part of the article, its reading allows the user to define if he or she is interested in consulting its content - within the framework of an exponential increase in scientific production - as well as magazine editors in many cases often identify the relevance of their publication. Together with the title, they are the main elements in the bibliographic bases. Therefore, there is an interest in the quality of the abstract given its importance in motivating readers, editors and evaluators. But this relevance of the abstract can be problematic. On the one hand, very interesting - or potentially - articles present summaries that are not entirely intelligible, omit the reconstruction of the most important points, or even do not present the conclusions. And, on the other hand, knowing the evaluation of the summary by the directors and editors, the authors make it with more order and scientific rigor in relation to the quality of the article.

El resumen es la parte del artículo más leída, su lectura permite al usuario definir si le interesa consultar su contenido –en el marco de un aumento exponencial de la producción científica–, así como también los directores de revistas en muchos casos suelen identificar la pertinencia de su publicación. Junto con el título, son los elementos principales en las bases bibliográficas. Por tanto, existe un interés en la calidad del resumen dada su importancia para motivar a lectores, editores y evaluadores. Pero esta relevancia del resumen puede ser problemática. Por un lado, artículos muy interesantes – o potencialmente–, presentan resúmenes que no son del todo inteligibles, omiten la reconstrucción de los puntos más importantes, o incluso no están presentes las conclusiones. Y, por otro lado, a sabiendas de la valoración del resumen por parte de los directores y editores, los autores realicen el mismo con mayor orden y rigor científico en relación a la calidad del artículo.
