Every profession has its peculiarities, but some people are more successful in the chosen field than others! Mind, talent, time, loving their work - the reasons are different!
The main reason behind professional success is hard work, authenticity, frankness and faithfulness in the practical demands and requirements of the work or the duty
I' m following with interest your views and as most of you think that work leads to the ultimate success. Permanent self-improvement should not be forgotten!
The secret to succeeding in work lies in the love of work first and then I will do everything in my best endeavors to perfection and success such as self-improvement, self-improvement, skills development, talent development and creativity at work
This is a very interesting discussion thus far. Thank you for probing! Financially speaking, few would consider anyone 'successful' if at, or just below, poverty level. However, if an individual possesses the ability to enter an unfamiliar territory and make any measurable difference for the betterment of others, this is what I would call success. If money and possessions is all that comprises success, this would be sad, indeed. I know that during my traveling tent experiences, many Hispanics' lives were changed when I incorporated nursing insight related to poor eating habits, enculturated replication by the next generation, and same-experienced health issues because of them. Many lives changed for the better, health-wise, and this is a substantial success.
Spiritually-speaking, for meeting attendees to witness two diametrically opposed ministers able to cohabitate, let alone assist fellow believers of all local faiths to come together in celebration of commonality, many lives were forever altered for the better. To most attendees, it was unheard of for such a display/situation to occur, and they had front row seats! Success is in the eye of the beholder, hands down. After all, if banks were to close, whom would be the most successful? I find this almost laughable, the degree to which most forget that a good heart is the most prized possession of all. :)
Many factors can contribute to success in professional life, but I will cite some of them that I see as crucial. First, be honest. Execute your work as it should be and never cheat.
Then, work hard even if others are not.
Respect everyone in your professional environment: superiors or subordinate.
Firstly, trust on yourself and improvement your skills.
Ask about what you did not know (means do not be shy and should be honest with yourself) make what can you create. The secret of life is continues (try and error) “C'est la vie”. When you fail that is not the end point try again and take your hazards by avoiding the bad/wrong factors. Do not let anything stopped your pluck prowess.
" Moreover, the worst is also happened when some colleagues, who are in responsible positions, interfere to the development of other younger colleagues. "
The bad thing is that in the academic community there is almost always a man in a high position with a different opinion.
Evidence is the books of Terry Pratchett, who wrote about the Magic University.
There have been cases in which I laughed at the analogues of similarities that I have actually observed.
Scientists from the National University of Miami (USA) conducted a study and found that people with high emotional intelligence (EQ) more often achieve success in their professional activities.
As a university professor, the most important factors of my professional success are to be keen to know everything new in my field of specialization and transfer it to my students to be their latest information, to provide them with scientific information in a clear and understandable way and to ensure an excellent human relationship with my students. Community problems in the area of specialization and research related to them to find solutions to these problems .
Personally hold dear to me is passion & perseverance. If these 2 persist, probability for professional success is higher than being on the right place at the right with the right people.
Let me disagree with Professor Ivanov. "Without a struggle there is no victory" (of course the rules should be, these exist...). A person must prove (and to himself too) that he is at least as good as his colleagues. Of course, we cannot offend children (I mean younger colleagues), but the creation of "greenhouse conditions" will not lead to anything good. Competition is one of the basic conditions for development.
Parents and teachers who continuously praise their children end up with creatures that will lost in any real life situation.
But if a person has nothing but fighting qualities, then it is better for him to go in "mixed martial arts ", and not into science.
"What is the reason for professional success? --- You ask.
There are many reasons to explain professional success. As a psychologist, I think of the follwing ones:
1) Hard work. It worth mentioned that Einstein once remaked that it is only in dictionaires that the word success appears first than word work, or better, hard work. Similarly, T. Edison observed that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration, that is, hard work,
2) Internal locus of control, that is, one's sense that our success depends more on personal factors, such as competency, talent, ability and effort, than on external factors such as luck. There is mounting evidence that show that the more we have an internal locus of control the more we are likely to achieve our professional goals.
3) Sense of competency, that is, our belief that we are competent enough to be successful in our profession. This relation between success and sense of competency has been found in many empirical studies.
4) Self-esteem, that is, our tendency to tkink of ourselves in positive terms. The relation of self-esteem and professional success has been corroborated by several empirical researches.
5) Self-efficacy, our belief that we are entitled with a set of abilities that lead us to professional success. This idea lies at the heart of Albert Bandura's social learning and socio cognitive learning theory.
5) Commitment, that is, our love for, or engagement with, our professional work.
6) Experience, namely if it is not seen an a mere routine, but as a permanent reconceptualized practice.
7). Complaince with the ethical standards of our profession.
Love to the profession and dedication to the work is most important.
But it may not be practically bring desired professional success. Many other factors, like nepotism, bribe (cash/ kind/ others), oiling etc. also play very strong role to get high chairs in many developing countries.
Some very high chairs are just purchased by the sitters. They collect money from corruptions to pay for the chairs.
But if you have no desire for high chairs, the said qualities may bring respect in the mind of your juniors and common people.
Actually, success means different things to different people. A major section of people believe success means achieving more in life. But no matter what success means, there are certain things that the most successful people in the world have in common, which I belief the most:-
1.To have faith in yourself for the kind of profession you persue....
2.To be confident
3.To be passionate.
4.To work ethically i.e, willing to work hard no matter what happens in life to reach the goal..
5.To be fierce, fearless and flawed.
6. To recognise the opportunities that come in your way.
I think, there are two key factors of a professional success in research fields. First, it's a habit of digging deep at any problem encountered. It's based on intelligence, experience, and natural inquisitiveness. Second, it's a gift of synthesis, combination, and imagination. Hence, it's an alloy of experience, professional habits, and innate abilities.
It's very nice reply of Len Leonid Mizrah) At the same time, in order to achieve a great results in the work and to be successful professional, it is necessary to know not only what the occupied position requires, but much more. Success in the professional field requires constant work and dedication, the secret of professional success consists in the desire to constantly develop; the success is the sum of small efforts, repeated every day. Sometimes life inflicts terrible and unjust blows. But that does not matter. Just some people climb, others – not. And I think the position of the ancient Greek philosopher Epictetus is the best in this situation: he believed, that every misfortune in life is an opportunity to manifest itself and to learn something new else. Our duty is not to plunge into self-pity, but to transfer the blow in a constructive way. And else: if a person really is going to succeed in any business, it is necessary that it caused her an unreasonable interest.
Professional success is important to continue and improve your skills in your field. Liliya Bazylyak and Len Leonid Mizrah your both answers are relay satisfied. I gained encouragement word form both of them.
From the reasons for success and excellence in work, is the possibility of a person in time management and planning to work, where the pre-planning and skill management is the way for success.
The reason for the success is due to several reasons, first of which is the determination and enthusiasm of the person himself to prove himself in his work
Some people are like a thermometer. If their environment is negative, they are negative. If bad things happen, they are sad. If good things happen, they are happy. They are simply a product of their environment. Successful people, on the other hand, are more like a thermostat. Even if their environment is negative, they choose to be positive.”
A bit bit of talent and much worlk are often the reason for professional success. In my country there is a proverb that sates that God helps those who work. Once Einstein astutely remarked that it is only in dictionaries that the term success apears first than the term work. So, give up the idea that you can have professional success and be lazy. From my own experince, all my acheivements were mainly a result of my engagement. commitment, and the like.
