Students, scholars, teachers and industrial people struggle hard to find a suitable journal to publish their research article. What is the purpose of publishing research article in a journal?
There is not only one goal. Provide research information to others, Upgrade Academic Status, Extension of knowledge, Earning a job and many other purpose.
The main purpose of publishing articles is to share your research ideas with the scientific community. If we don't share and if we don't spread the research work, how science will grow and how people will work on that particular idea in the future. Science and research should be for humanity not for ourself. Sharing scientific ideas solve the problems of around 8 billions populations.
So keep sharing and keep publishing your work in the worthy journals.
In my opinion, the purpose of publication is to share knowledge to other students or researchers. High impact or low impact does not matter to me. When my writing was published where ever it is, I feels so happy cause I can share my content to other parties. For my future study, I have a dream to publish in Q1. Therefore, I need to work hard on it.
There is not only one goal. Provide research information to others, Upgrade Academic Status, Extension of knowledge, Earning a job and many other purpose.
This is not the only goal: The other goal is quality assurance. Why is this? Good journals typically have good reviewers leading to an improvement of the article in terms of approaches, ideas, analyses and interpretation.
Publishing a research article in a journal helps a person to know one's position among researchers, may help to tie up with others to get quality work, expose to the world and to know strengths and weakness of one's research capabilities.
Research is important for each and every person. A person will try to put ideas on a paper for publication. By publishing, one will be getting interacted to the persons working in this area, develop contacts and make best use of them.
Writing is the most important means for communicating scientific work. Research and publication complement teaching and training, clinical care, and public health works. Implementing research and publishing results is crucial for a career in sciences.
The purpose of publishing research article is to know where we are and how to move forward in extension, get people or scholars who are working in the area thereby developing confidence and strength.
3. assess the quality of results, ensure scientific standards
4. assign public appreciation
Originally, journals were primarily required for sharing research results, just as this was costly. Correspondingly, in the old days there were low barriers to access, no systematic peer review was established. In those days, also the amount of research articles was moderate compared to later decades. The scientific community did not need much help to oversee the relevant publications.
As the number of articles increased, journals engaged more to assess the quality of results published. By this, they contribute to secure scientific standards. Furthermore, they still have a say in the sharing of results. But more in the sense that they guide the researchers' attention. And, now even more important, they grant reputation.
I think, the original purpose, making results visible to the public, has decreased in importance. Every researcher can easily share her or his manuscripts via open access servers. The infrastructure also safeguards a permanent availability. In some fields, preprints circulate such a long time that the scientific community is already well acquainted with the results when they finally are accepted for journal publication. In such a case, just the reputation can justify the effort to get the manuscript published.
One could be active in research only when a person exposes oneself by means of publications. A person will be known when one's work is read, discussed, analyzed and appreciated.
In response to your question, I should say that, in my view, the main intention of
publishing research article in a journal would be sharing all scientific and/or research-based findings with the world of science. I think that this intention can significantly pave the way for achieving this worthwhile end: improvement of the quality of living of human beings in the world.
Academic journals serve as permanent and transparent forums for the presentation, scrutiny, and discussion of research. They are usually peer-reviewed or refereed. Content typically takes the form of articles presenting original research, review articles, and book reviews. Publishing articles help spread and share knowledge among communities and the whole world.
The research article should be published in reputed journal so that world come to know about your discovery, invention, idea , information and like that way Science will go ahead.
Publishing research article in a journal gives wide publicity and also has a capability to reach every one. This helps to know the current research trend and gives a way for interaction with researchers in our area.
In my view, publication of research article in a journal is a worth. A person who is interest in this field of research may read, interact, recommend, cite and if possible can have collaboration in future research works.
Academic research journals provide a forum for peer reviewed research publications and to achieve multiple goals like sharing, recommendations, citations and future work
A researcher discover/invent something with so much struggle, devotion so it must be published in good journal so that people comes to know his/ her discoveries and appreciate it, and it also should be used for development of mankind
The purpose is to keep our fellow academic researchers updated on the theories in practice and to develop a better understanding of the meaning based on new discoveries. Also, it's to add your findings into the classroom with your learners on whether the theories are effective or have their limitations in the real world.
Yes, we strive and "struggle" to publish in journals. Our articles are the presentation of our work to the scientific community and the world. It is a preliminary step we choose to take before we make the technology commercially viable and bring it to use by the general public. Apart from this, we do have conferences, and presentations to showcase our findings to the world.
I prefer to publish in SCI/SCIE (Science citstion indexed/Science citation indexed expanded) journals, these journals have good impact factor, well circulated and reliability which is needed for any good publication.
The main purpose of the publication of any research article in the journal is to help other researchers if the research in the field of research is reached and for the purpose of benefiting the Sociological communities of the evidence contained in the research.
Publishing in a journal currently means that it is possible to find it in the main databases, and it can then be shared or built on by other researchers. It would be excellent if repositories and sites like ResearchGate were more mainstream as then it would be possible to get a similar effect without having to either submit to a journal which will hide it behind a paywall, or where you have to pay them to make it open access. It would also avoid some of the publication biases that exist with current journals.
Another important aspect is peer review but that is provided free by researchers to publishers and they should be encouraged to provide the service to repositories and users of ResearchGate instead.
The purpose of publishing research article in a journal is to present latest research, which is especially important in particular subject areas. As well as distribute knowledge of the most recent or latest researches and breakthroughs.
Pisipaty publishing an article is part of what they call science engagement/science communication to the stakeholders in your field of specialty for informing policy........
The research paper in the documentary evidence one create in life time research work. The generations will remember if good research research results are produced. If the result is reproducible it will be remembered for many generations . Hence many data analytics platform always count number of times the paper is refereed by other researchers.
Publishing a research paper is very important. Actually, it is the best way to share your knowledge to the community which helps the advancement of science and research. Let’s think for exemple about Nobel prize winners, how could we know about their research unless they didn’t publish it
Publishing is informing and that is why we are encouraged to make knowledge free (open access). Knowledge/information is as important as water for human life.
Publication of research article in a journal happens to project ourselves widely and publicly. Researchers in the area will come in touch, may happen to interact and collaborate in further future research activities.
Journals serve as a focal point for the description of scientific results. Journal articles supply information that helps scientists to develop new hypotheses, and they provide a foundation on which new scientific discoveries and inventions are built. Regards
Publishing research article in a Journal helps us to understand better, how the article should be, how this should be written, how this should be made important and what points to highlight. Publishing in a Journal can be viewed by many people, come near to the colleagues who are in the same area of research and help atleast some to carry their research
Researchers wish to contribute to science. They develop new concepts, new knowledge, and new findings. Once they have achieved a finding, they publish it as a scientific article in a scholarly journal or a relevant conference. Publication of scientific articles is an important step for every single scientist to have his/her research spread among the other scholars. There are quite a number of reasons that scientists like to publish their work. Firstly, the basic reason for publication is to share their findings to promote the worldwide knowledge. They publish their results with the detail description of how they have done the research. So that other researchers can replicate the same work and probably expand it accordingly to contribute new knowledge. Secondly, they would like to apply for grants or to graduate from university. Thirdly, they would like to get promotions in academia. Last but not least, they would like to be recognized and to increase their reputations (e.g. h-Index) which may end up with a higher salary or a better job position.
