some tumors are considered more aggressive than others and not resopnding to chemotherapy, according to the international statistics: which is the most agressive type of tumor with lowest expectancy of life?
I would add, besides of pancreatic cancer and glioblastoma, the anaplastic thyroid cancer, although it is a rare tumor is extremely aggressive and with a poor prognosis
In adults glioblastoma has 2-year survival of about 30% and median survival of 14-15 months. In children diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma has 2-year survival of less than 10% and median survival of just 10 months. For sure pancreatic cancer is also one of the most fatal with about 10% 2-year survival.
I would say hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAC), glioblastoma and small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC). To answer more specifically, one would have to compare cause-specific survival for specific histological (or even molecular) subtypes of cancers stratified by sex, race, age at diagnosis, year of diagnosis, disease stage and disease grade. For example, median survival for advanced HCC is 2.3 months and for PAC 3.0 months (stratified data).
