Hi all,

I am wondering as to the conditions of a lysis buffer that would lyse both the cell membrane and the mitochondrial membrane. The purpose of this lysis is to collect genomic and mitochondrial DNA, no need for individual isolation of the fractions. From what I've read, I believe the conditions to lyse the mitochondrial membrane must be alkaline. Does anyone have a lysis buffer recipe that meets my needs? Or can anyone offer some insight into methods?

Thank you!
