If I get a piece of DNA, how can I tell if the DNA is from Mitochondria of Bacteria?
Hello
Don't worry about it. Prokaryotes don't have mitochondria at all.
Do a Blast on its sequence and look at the best matches
Bacterial DNA has origin of replication while mitochondrial DNA doesn't have

Hello Ali, sorry for the typing mistake. I meant how to differentiate between eukaryotic mitochondrial DNA and bacterial genomic DNA?

Thanks! I will try that.
I have cloned YeGFP in a mammalian expression vector, but I don't see any GFP expressionin HEK cells. Is YeGFP is supposed to fluoresce in mammalian cells?
