I have conducted a tension test with displacement controlled rate of 1mm/min. In ABAQUS, where should I put this value? or do I need to make reference point constrain?
thanks Tarkes Dora , but still don´t get the idea of having the table of displacement for various time...so..meaning to say that i have to create an input for the amplitude? let say at time 0,0..1,1..and so on? until?..sorry..i am really lost at this part.
i use mm as unit here. The geometry is round dog bone specimen. But i try it for symmetry 2D..i will apply load at top..should i apply the displacement BC to top nodes or top surface?..i also need to model it until fracture..but currently i stuck with this part..in the case of vertical (y-direction of applied load), i should thick U2 and leave the value blank..and create an amplitude table to that BC..is that true?
Apply a displacement boundary condition with the maximum displacement reached in your experiment. ABAQUS CAN does not take the dynamic effect into account. Therefore, you don't need to worry about the rate (1mm/min). In short, just apply a displacement boundary condition.
