I tried using "layerd material link/layerd material" but it dosn't work. The simulation doesn't register the presence of the 50 nm coating that i wanted to add. I guessed that the study time-step was too high and lowerd it but still it didn't change.
I am new with Comsol 5.6 and i would be greatful for your help!

in the work I am usually involved with (i.e. nanophotonics, via RF module) I usually adopt a separate domain for each material layer, with the proviso of carefully meshing such a new element and the neighbouring domains.
If modeling this layer involves a massive growth of the DOF number, I suggest looking into the "thin layer" option, though I have never used it myself. I think I remember seeing it within the options in the RF module (if that is the one you're using).

You have two ways:
1) simulate the whole domain, being cautious that you increase dramatically the number of elements especially if the layer is much thinner than the other domain
2) use the thin layer bundary condition, this is a BC so you will not see a new domain neither you will see a certain propery distribution on it, but only "the effect" it produces on the other domain.
