I need to do a phenotypic assay for several compounds to see their effects on cytotoxicity, apoptosis, morphology, and cell analysis assay on Glioblastoma cells.
I do not know whether an assay could be "the best".
An essay remains an essay ...
We are using computer-assisted phase-contrast microscopy as illustrated in the three films here attached (this is a GBM cell line; Ct = control; CS = cardiotonic steroid [cytotoxic]; Narc = narciclasine [cytostatic]). You can see that many phenotypic characteristics can be observed with respect to these two compounds when compared to the control, or between themselves.
I am also arraching here two articles to show you how we can take benefit of this approach.
