It is easy to deign a homogeneous 3D model of composite for an structural analysis. 3D models created using SOLID WORKS, CREO etc., are homogeneous models, even 3D models created using powerful FEM packages like ANSYS and ABAQUS are homogeneous possessing homogeneous structural property. What is the best software for creating a heterogeneous composite structure for structural analysis.
In order to model heterogeneous composite such as fiber reinforced composites at Meso-level you can use textile generation software such as TexGen or WiseTex. From these software's you an export the voxel mesh to FEM packages like Ansys or Abaqus for further analysis.

I feel the softwares that you have listed also useful in simulating the composite structure with the use of interface elements. The contact elements can be used to simulate the interface between two dissimilar materials. you can collect many literature on this topic using ANSYS and ABAQUS software.. You can use similar softwares like PLAXIS3D or FLAC3D to simulate the geotechnical engineering related problems. ok all the best..

you can use any of the software as you listed provided you get some modelling expertise. Composites with heterogeneous materials (fiber architecture, resin, inclusions, void, etc...) you can go with meso/micro scale level modelling. For heterogeneous structures (composites with different ply material, combination of GFRP/CFRP/steel etc...) you can use macro modelling with interface contact/constraint elements. Its all depending on the level of details and accuracy you needed.
i would suggest to try MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN.
It is more easy compare to others.
