I have had numerous soil samples analysed from various farms with different soil types 2 years ago. The soil samples were analysed for Total N,C and other nutrients. I re-sampled the farms again to analyse for the same parameters. The trend in all the farms is a significant drop in total N levels by around 50%. The total C levels have in some farms improved or remained the same, although there are some isolated cases of farms showing a slight drop in C. Basically there isn't a common trend in C levels. What could be the explanation for this? Is it possible for total N to deplete that much within a 2 year period? Even with optimised mineralization rates?

Any POV will be greatly appreciated.
