The distal Lck promoter is active in T cells in the late stages of thymic maturation but does that include CD8, CD4 and gamma-delta T cells? Or are gd T cells left out?
Dear Pedro, as I could understand Lck-Cre is active in both alpha/beta (CD4 and CD8) and gamma/delta T cells. Deletion of floxed allele takes place at DN2 stage.
Dear Pedro, I do not know exactly. As a rule, conditional KO made by Cre under Lck promoter contain increased quantities of gamma/delta T cells. Distal promoter is active after positive selection of alpha/beta T cells. So, I think, with Cre under distal Lck promoter gamma/delta T cells should not be affected.
