What causes hydrolysis of TMT labels?

How does TMT labels become hydrolyzed and lose their efficiency? We add 41 uL of the 800 ug TMT label to 100 ug protein in 100 mM TEAB buffer. Does the water in the TEAB buffer cause hydrolysis?
