Traps with fruit bait seem to work very well, mix banana, mango etc, slightly rotten. Also actively look around on tree trunk sap leaks, flowers of certain plants, mostly large scented flowerheads. In open arid vegetation these methods won't get you all the species, but in SE Asia it may just be enough.
