We have a code for a benchmark problem. We used this code in Ansys 14 and in Ansys 17. However, we get two different nonsense solutions. Further, we repeated running the code on Ansys 14 and it gave another solution that is irrelevant to the previous one.

Can you copy error file here, Because the problem can not be accurately diagnosed.this problem occurs as a result of several variables.
By the way you can try to change the program behavior upon nonconvergence to " Terminate but do not exit" as shown in picture.

In fact, there are too many reasons to get such type of error. But, you are talking about an APDL code and that's mean you should get the same error in all versions of ANSYS. I have no idea about what you are trying to implement but I guess you have to change either: 1) the number of meshing elements (more dense) specially in through thickness direction if you have a 3D problem or 2) change your load type ( if you applied it as a step load try to change it to a ramp load). In all cases if you tell us more about your problem we can guess what is going on.
