But I had some bad experiences. One fellow from a developed country had been continuing his bad comments, vulgar and some optimistic words many times though requested him not to do. I sent my feedbacks to RG. Finally I blocked him but still he is doing the same. How this is I don't know.
Yes, You are right . This is not my question. Still I will say its positive that many people get chance to read , write , download research without cost or very minimum cost. I think its positive.
What are the limitations of ResearchGate ? Have you faced any problem with it?
Not sure this is a limitation in RG - I can't seem to download all the Q&As that I have participated. If anyone knows the way please feel free to share. Thanks.
Not capturing all your citations. Again, inability to detect and upload new publication to your profile automatically without uploading them manually. The issues still need to be addressed and worked on.
Difficult to interpret or understand RG Score, some had very less research interest, less citation, participate in questions and answers are very rare but score is high comparative to others who have more all of the above mentioned points.
Improvement regarding recommendations, shuld be some differences who is made recommendation, more points if recommendation made with person with high RG score.
Karen A. Darbinyan the points allocation for recommendations and reads is already in place. Arvind Singh and @Omolayo, the citation database of researchgate is Ok. Please don't expect it to be as liberal as Google Scholar. Be that as it may, every system has its limitations and researchgate is no exception. What is immediately discernible is the spate of media chat kind of questions and the idiotic answers and recommendations that follow. Surely, these kinds of questions and recommendations could be blocked or the member perpetrators punished.
Scoring scheme is not fixed. It is fluctuating regardless of your continuous activity and the citations collection needs to be improved. I think RG score also depend on the your paper impact factor gained because when I have uploaded a more than 7 impact factor paper of elsevier then my RG score increase more than 3 in a singe time.
Citation database should be improved because it's very slow, knowing very well that citation is the outcome of your research work, it shows that people are reading your work......
Dear Fateh, there is a drop-down icon to the right of your answer and time. Click on it. You will see both edit and delete. You could click on either depending on what you want to do. I think that particular limitation does not exist.
This is a very good observation. However, I am agreed with brother Andem Bassey, it means that the citation database is not quick and improved as google scholar. Just, I want to give an example, the number of citations of one of my articles are 24 in google scholar but in RG, it is only 14 !!!! Not only that, in google scholar, few of my articles have good citations but in RG, there is no citations in those same articles!!!
However, still I am really satisfied regarding the current functions of RG. It is an effective and essential social media for researchers.
RG should update their list of journals to enable easy uploading. The mobile app should be made available on Google playstore too. The scoring system is not progressive rather it moves up and down without reasons. In all RG Team is doing well.
RG is an effective and essential social media for researchers .I am really satisfied regarding the functions of RG . But I have some notices there is many journals are not available in RG and not capturing all your citations
Good platform for peer to peer interaction but score fluctuation from higher to below can't understand why the score acquired once come down later days that need to be justified
