People around the world are now nervous and confused about 'Corona Virus' . What are the differences between corona virus induced fever/cold/cough and normal fever/cold/cough ?
Clinical piicture and signs and symptoms are alike, but the various pathogens (e.g. different coronaviruses, influenza-viruses, rhinoviruses etc.) use different receptors and molecules for cell entry. Clinically, such infections are barely possible to discrminate, albeit they can differ in severity, which, however, is also dependent on the immune status, preconditions and other factors. of an individual.
I would like to add a comment. We have discussed the posibility of cold and cough remedies having a negative impact on patients with Covid-19 infection. Researchers interested in this question should not forget the possibility that they may have positive impact on the patients' health. An antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory agent, expectorant or a mucolytic may be helpful. The researchers can see if any such a beneficial effect can be supported by evidence.
I agree with @ Christian G Meyer they have similar clinical picture, signs or symptoms whatever the pathogen may be (influenza, coronaviruses, rhinoviruses or whatever it may be). It is advisable in present situation to go for covid-19 test immediately you feeling any similar symptom.
