Hi all,
Recently I was recommended to use QIAGEN miRCURY LNA miRNA mimics / inhibitors in transfecting mammalian cancer cell lines.
I was told that the mentioned mimics / inhibitors can be used to transfect cells using "non-assisted update approach".
If you have used this transfection products before, could you share with me on whether it is good to transfect mammalian colon cancer and breast cancer cells (miRNA introduction into the cells)?
Other alternatives which I am considering are the lipofectamine 3000 / RNAiMAX products by the ThermoFisher.

I have used Qiagen miRNA mimics with Qiagen Hiperfect reagent in transfecting primary granulosa cells. It worked very well and I have validated using qpcr and western blot
Hi, just wonder have u used Qiagen Mercury LNA mimics/inhibitors before as I was told that this does not require transfection reagent.
I have used mercury LNA inhibitors from Exiqon and mimic from Qiagen and for both I have used hiperfect transfection reagents. I did not try transfection without reagent
I think both Qiagen and Exiqon have same products
Thanks for the reply Bushra T Mohammed . Kindly refer to the pictures I got from the Qiagen miRCURY mimics / inhibitor manual. I am not sure whether I interpreted wrongly or not. It seems like the miRCURY products do not require the addition of any transfection agent to aid its efficiency. I tried to search inside the same manual and it seems like the manual does not describe the use of the HiPerfect reagent for the transfection work.
Hi Bushra T Mohammed . I have a question regrading choosing mimics. Im inteding to get mimics/ inhibitor specific for miR146a-5p. In Qiagen website there are a few options for miR146a but not mentioning if it is 3p or 5p. How do I know if it is 5p or 3p? Thanks in advance
