In Chile the "Cientificos de la Basura" = "Litter Cientists" do research on beach pollution with AMD (anthropogenic marine debris). The participating volunteers are school kids and their teachers from all over the country.

There are MANY in Australia.  See GBR CSA link for several. As part of the Australian Citizen Science Association (ACSA). I am working to compile a national list of CS projects across the nation to eventually be used for a database.
