I got CD spectra of plant protein that is quite similar to that of myoglobin pattern in CD spectrometry. Is that correct spectra? Kindly help me? I am attaching the file below.
CD only give an overall estimate of protein secondary structure. Myoglobin is an all-alpha protein. So, that plan protein might as well be an all-alpha protein.
Uttam is correct. CD is largely a descriptive technique, so there is not much point in interpreting it unless you have a reference spectrum of (ideally) the same protein in reference condition. A change in CD will then indicate conformational change. Other than that I woul not read too much out of a CD spectrum.
