Theory for collective cell migration

Hello everyone, I wanted to know what are theory available for collective cell migration especially in the context of connective tissue. Connective tissue are those where ECM is occupied between cells heavily. What are features can be calculated from 3d images of cell from just one time point. Depending upon the size and shape of cells can I say anything about cell migration.
