Considering the direct contact of ambient air with the ear canal, and the connection of the ear canal to the nasal passage and throat, does the ear function as a receiver of the airborne SARS CoV2?
If so, will cotton ear plugs be sufficient to help protect this viral entry point?

I took this as read from the beginning, as the ears are clearly a point of entry for germs. Hence my wearing of woolly bonnets to cover my ears at the height of summer!
I know that there is no firm epidemiological evidence to support this, but an absence of evidence is not evidence of an absence.
This probably should have been examined a long time ago.
