I have been trying to isolate a hydrophobic fatty acid compound from an aqueous extract with a surfactant. The fatty acid compound is Insoluble in water , soluble in ether, chloroform, dichloromethane and hot benzene. I am trying to use a liquid-liquid extraction to separate the analyte from the hydrophilic matrix components, because i am not getting the peak in the extract. What would be a recommendation for an extraction method that won't hurt the LCMS detector?
