Hi everyone,

All of my genomic DNA purifications from S. cerevisiae have contained a distinct band over 10 kb. None of the yeast chromosomes are that small and it seems to be too specific for random degradation. I'm at a loss as to what it could be. 

I used Promega Wizard genomic prep kit. Below is the gel photo. The left ladder is NEB's 2-log; right is NEB's supercoiled ladder. Genomic sample is the leftmost one. Ignore the rest.
