I want to know How long can I store the cell line in -80C before liquid nitrogen? Thanks.

If you are going to use the cells in moths (3-12), you can store your cells at -80C. However, after a month -80 storage of the cells, do not put them into liq. nitrogen. We have a very bad experience, almost all the cells were dead. After -80C, you should put your cells into liq. nitrogen within 2-14 days for longer storage.

Ideally, the cells should be moved to liquid nitrogen within a few days. But I have had good results even after a month or two at -80C.

I agree with the above answers. I have used cells stored at -80 even after 12 months and they seemed fine. Lot depends on the condition they were in while you froze them. But indeed there is a slow but gradual decrease in their health with time in -80. So, if you are using them after a year or so, then its always better to store in liquid nitrogen. Basically, for long time storage and emergency back ups you can store and maintain in liquid nitrogen ( you should closely monitor liquid nitrogen levels and replenish it every few days, maintenance is of utmost importance), for regular and frequent uses, -80 is preferable. I would suggest not to transfer stored cells from -80 to liquid nitrogen or vice versa. Its better to segregate them according to the purpose and need and keep them separate.

i am totally agree with Ozen Ma;am and Tias too. while storage of any kind of cells there is thumb rule like if you want to use cells within short period of time than go for -80 if not than go for liquid nitrogen, because of loss of viability of cells in -80 when store for long period of time. .
I agree with the above store cells in liquid nitrogen for longer term use. The viability of certain cells especially primary cells can be affected when stored at -80
