We produce liposomes by dissolving lipids (DOPE, DOTAP, CHOLESTEROL, PEG) in tert-butanol and then freeze-drying to form a thin film for re-hydration.

Weighing small amounts of lipids and dissolving in tert-butanol for each liposome batch is labour intensive, time consuming, and prone to more errors.

So I was wondering if it would be ok to store a bulk of lipids/tert-butanol in freezer and use them later?

has anyone tested lipids stability in tert-butanol?
