My intention was to simulate the heat distribution in an empty (unloaded with feedstocks) cylindrical auger reactor when it is supplied with constant heat supply of 875Deg Celsius.
What are the pro's and con's of using either ANSYS Fluent or SolidWorks Flow Simulation?
Selection depends on mode of heat transfers. if you have only conduction then may be a normal solver would do the job. But if you are also having convection and radiations (as temperature given b you suggests that) then you need to have a more exhaustive solver. ANSYS may be a better choice, if you want to do detailed analysis.

I recommend use ANSYS due to the nature of the problem you want to solve. Solidworks employs a lot of resources for graphical interface and the simulation packages are less robust in comparison to ANSYS, which involves less visualization and graphical resources but provide a better modeling-iterative solving process.
ANSYS is a tool dedicated for simulating, meanwhile SW is an integral CAD/CAE/FEA/Rendering/Project....... software.
However, both software tools provide solutions to your problem. The rigor of your study is a decision-making criterion as well.
