I have been using RevMan for conducting meta-analysis. Recently I came to know about another software called "Comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA)". Anyone has experience of using both? Is there anything/any option I would miss by not using CMA? To be noted: CMA is not a freely available software, however RevMan is free.

This link tells you the difference. I've had a little exposure with CMA and it is much more handy. If you want to be flexible it is definitely good. However, Revman is free and serves basic purpose. So, its up to you and your project. CMA gives you a wide range of analysis like meta regression and some other features, which Revman does not have.
I am a Stata user and will recommend it for meta-analysis. However, R also have a good tutorial on meta-analysis. I have used Revman in the past - it is good but basic. CMA is a very good alternative to Stata.

Thanks very much Dr. Sofia for your response. I have started to learn 'R' as well. It's possible to draw nice funnel plots by using 'R' which is rather devastating to generate from RevMan. However, I used the free 10day trial version of CMA for generating funnel plots, it's automatic and easy of course. I appreciate you for providing me the PDF.

RevMan is very easy to use and it is a free software. CMA is good for advanced analysis and I like its data entry format. However, STATA is the best software for all types of meta-analysis, I feel, as it is fairly easy and various analyses can be done.

Is there any change in RevMan Review Manager 5.3 version especially use of +, - and ? symbols for low, high and unclear risk of bias? I need some help to adjust +, -, and ? symbols for low, high and unclear risk of bias for Cochrane risk of bias assessment in meta-analysis using RevMan Review Manager software 5.3. When I generate the risk of bias table, only the +, and - symbols are seen but not the ? symbol for unclear risk of bias. I know the risk of bias table is a auto generation but there must be reason why the symbol ? is not appearing? Any suggestion please to resolve it? Thanks in advance
