I want to inhibit Ser/Thr phosphatase activity in synchronized live cells, and I would like to find out if/how compounds like NaF, Na orthovanadate, or beta glycerol phosphate can be used in live cell culture? Thanks!
If you share your goal of inhibition of phosphatases in cultured cells, it should be possible to suggest appropriate inhibitors. It is likely that the inhibition of the activity would result in cell growth arrest and/or cell death depending upon cell type and treatment conditions (including the concentration of an inhibitor and treatment time).
