We started working with hIPSCs and differentiate them into cortical neurons. So far it works nicely. We all know that its expensive to work with iPSCs. To reduce some expenses we were wondering if it is possible to reuse our laminin coating solution (Cultrex 3D laminin diluted in PBS), since it is a huge expense... Does anyone has experience with the reuse?

Hi Sarah,
I have successfully reused laminin for coating plates in neural stem cell culture, up to three times during optimization experiments. We used Sigma L2020 (1) at an initial concentration of 15 µg/mL for the first application. After coating the plates for 2 hours at 37°C, I collected the laminin solution in a 50 mL conical tube and stored it at 4°C for future use.
Please note that each reuse reduces the laminin concentration, which may affect consistency. For experiments where reproducibility is crucial—especially those aimed for high-impact journals—it is advisable to use a fresh coating to maintain precise concentration levels.
If your resources allow, maybe try reusing once on a small plate/flask and see what happens?
