I am looking for numbers of amino acid abundance in the total proteins of different species, e.g. E.coli 3% Ala, 5 % Gly...; S.cerevisiae 5% Lys, 2.5% Pro...
Are there online databases or papers about this?
Hello Maria,
you will need an additional step to convert codons to amino aids, but in this database you can find the codon usage for a lot of micro-organisms:

Using this information you should be able to calculate the percentages you're looking for.
Thanks Christian, exactly what I was looking for.
