I am looking into purchasing an automated cell counter. I have used the Countess previously, but was wondering if there are other recommendations for counters that are reliable? Are there any good cell counters that do not use disposable slides?
Dear Ruth Huttenhain Sorry i have just seen your question on here.
90% of the cell counters use slides and the remaining 10% do not but the prices of them are much higher at £20K over compared to your countess cell counter which is around £2K price tag. This is because the cell counter companies make their main profit from the slides they sell. it is a monopoly game just like the printers vs original cartrige business.
However, there is a new technology becoming more and more popular amongst scientists like you around the world, made by a small start-up which You probably have not heard of it yet. it is called iWash slide cleaner. this washer washes any type, shape and size of single-use slides and makes them re-useable >20 times each slide. your Countess instantly becomes almost slide-less cell counter, you can save a lot of money and reduce the plastic waste dramatically and do not even need to change your current cell counter.
to be absolutely transparent with you. i am the inventor of this device
feel free to visit and see what it looks like and what it can do, and the testimonials we have from all around the world.
Ruth Huttenhain Have you considered the LUNA-FX7 ( https://logosbio.com/luna-fx7/ )? it's 21 CFR Part 11/GMP compliant, has dual fluorescent and brightfield detection, and multiple chamber formats(8- , 3-, 2-, 1-, if I'm not mistaken). It ticks a lot of boxes.
