I want to practically simulate the fixed support for experimental modal analysis. But no reference has been found regarding, what should be the frequency of the support compared to that of remaining system to consider it to be practically fixed. This is required to design the support sturcture for the system. Please give suggestions (if possible with reference). Thank you
Pls clearly explain your application. Whether you wand to design the vibration isolation system or you want to reduce the transmissibility of vibration from main system to base????
Frequency ratio is the ratio of base excitation frequency to the natural frequency of main system.
Nils Wagner & Amit Bhende , If I want to find the natural frequency of a cantilever beam both in analysis and by experiment. I can model a pipe and apply fixed support at one end in analysis but in actual experiment I have to weld a plate at the end of the pipe and fix that plate to clamp/ benchwise. Now, the plate that is welded to the pipe has become the support structure (near to fixed support). So both the pipe and the plate stiffness will effect the experimental results. So, I need to have the plate stiffness (i.e, natural frequency of the plate with the clamped boundary condition) to be sufficiently higher. But how much higher it should be compared to the pipes frequency in cantilever boundary condition.
