I'm trying to identify good putative macrophage markers for flow cytometry in rats.
I'd actually been attempting to replicate the protocol from that paper and was having difficulty getting similar results. Using the same antibodies and channels, as best as I can, but not seeing any CD68 or CD45 signal as seen on the paper.

Total macrophages were identified according to the dual presence of CD45 (leukocytes common antigen) and CD68 (PAN macrophage marker) in live cells.
This was followed by surface staining of CD86 (M1 marker) and CD163 (M2 marker).
That first paper looks at naked mole rats, a completely different family of rodents, and the second paper is one I've attempted to replicate with no success thus far.
