I am planning to do immunohistochem with markers for neutrophiles (activated and not activated). Maybe you have some suggestions what marker should I use. I was thinking about CD6. I read it indicates activated neutrophiles.
The largely used marker for neutrophil mapping is the Gr-1 otherwise I rather use the Ly6-G antigen.
Gr-1 antidodies recognize either Ly6-G alone or the couple Ly6G-Ly6-C and are not 100% specific for neutrophils (it cross reacts with a subtype of myeloid cells).
We are mapping neutrophil in mouse lungs using Ly6-G antidoby (clone 1A8) from Biolegend.
For activation status, activated neutorphils are CD11b pos.
