We have a problem in our Agilent 1220 HPLC.

The pressure is highly fluctuate and reaches zero when running 100% solvent in B-line (as in attached pictures) either when connecting a column or not.

This did not occur when running 100% solvent in line-A.

We noticed also that the solvent flow is slow in this line (line-B) and some times stop and flow backward.

We emailed the company and after many suggestions, we checked the purge valve frit , inlet and oulet valve, pump and even changed the solvent filters. But the problem still exists.

We also perform the leak test to test for the possibility of any internal pump leak. But the results seems good and indicates no leak !!

I think the problem may be in the dual channel gradient valve (DCGV) ?! is that true or not?!!

Any suggestions or comments to solve the problem !!!!!

Thanks in advance
