I need to import residual stress field into my model using the Predefined filed option and output database file. Everythin is ok until I need to start the calculation when it says; The following file(s) could not be located: "C:/....." . But file is there of course. Do you know maybe where is the poblem?

Are you running from the same directory? This problem sound like the path is not set properly. It also could be the software is looking for a specific name, as your analysis file name.

yes the file is in the same directory (Abaqus working directory). The path is set ok, I also tried to change the name but with no success. Every thime the same error.
How did you create "Predefined field".
In the past when I used "Predefined field", my file was generated in another analysis using the same finite element model as the primary analysis model. Hence the software could map data from "Predefined field" onto the primary analysis file. I think it worth exploring if two models are compatible.
Please read the manual and how Abaqus expect the "Predefined field" to look like.
Yes I have to separate models, one for generating residual stress, and this one is the input for the second model.
But in the meantime I found the solution. File is needed to be in the ORIGINAL Abaqus temp folder. In my Abaqus I change the location of the temp folder, but for the predefined field input the file is needed to be in the original one which is in C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Temp

Halo Darko... I also have proble in modeling initial stress in abaqus. By using Abaqus that original working directory had been changed in other location (not inC:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Temp). Can you shear to me.. how to use predefined field in abaqus correctly. Sould I repeat instal Abaqus with originaly place of Set Work Dirrectory inC:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Temp so that predefined field can work well.

I believe the problem is that its not enough just to have the .odb file of the predefined stress filed. You will also need to have the inp, imp, dat.. etc. that generated the odb stress field values in the same directory.

It's a long ago you did something with residual stress mapping in abaqus. But can you clarify it once again how you went on to apply predefined field successfully. In my problem i'm doing elastic strain recovery by applying predefined field in my deformed model. It will be helpful if you could share something on that.
