Actually, I want to do a efficacy studies of hypolipidemic, hyperinsulinaemia, hypertriglyceraemia and diabetic complications models in rats for Ayurvedic preparations.
As per my knowledge both models are different. So you have to divide this study into 2 parts one in first model hypertriglyceraemica and hypo lipidemic can be tried and that also not in same duration. Another model can be used for hyperinsulinaemia and diabetic complication.
@Dr. Kartikey Tyagi....thank you for your views and my question is Pre-treatment, Co-Treatment and Post-Treatment which one is the best selective one and how it is supposed to be best?
hi, you could first start with a Pretreatment model, it will help you to learn all the details and further set a plan for cotreatment and post-treatment parameter to be studied, furthermore it will make you study more systematic rather then other way round!
Hi, this more basic pharmacology (pharmacokinetic and -dynamic) and drug interaction data is needed. Therefore, routes of administration, drug chemistry is needed. Time factor is also important for pre and post-treatments. So, understanding idea is needed for such plan.
Dear Venu Gopal As a Ayurvedic person the subject that you have choosen is not related with Ayurveda. Diagnosis is modern and treatment is of Ayurvedic combinations. As Dootpapeshwar is very well known Ayurvedic phamacy. According to me the all research is going only using modern parameters but remember that Ayurveda have its own base like Panchmahabhuta, Tridosha,Saptadhatu, Mala, Samanya-vishesha , Prakruti etc and on this base Ayureda developed. Deshym dushym Balam Kalam etc the Dashvidh examination mentioned in Ayureda while regarding plants Guna, rasa Veerya, Vipaka, Prabhava etc mentoned very clearly. So what will happen the results will not get up to the mark. Regarding animal experiment whats about their mind? According to Ayurveda mind plays very important role in research. So if you have to do some thing go for rasa veerya vipak etc. of plants and the think about the points mentioned in Ayurveda for reaserch. If we all do resaerch like this then and then will have some hopes to get some thing new medicine for new drugs. Uptill now thousands of plants screened for Anticancer, anti diabetic. We get some chemical compuond from plant but till their is no single medicine finlised to treat cancer, diabetis Why? So my kind reqest is that please fallow Ayurvedic concepts for reaserch. I also argree that this a very difficult task for us. So we Ayurvedic persons have come together and make a protocol for research with Ayurvedic views. Even though you have to study on your subject make two groups and carry the work as Kartiey tyagi is mentoned you will get something positive results but accordin to my view it is not that much benificial to human being. Sorry this is my personal view dont take it oyherwise.
@Dear Ashok wali... I have some dubious es about the reverse pharmacology i.e., Clinical to Pre-clinical work unlike conventional i.e., Pre-clinical to Clinical.
a) As per the animal models evaluation of maladies are modern techniques and I agree with you. But, in-case of laboratory work we are not able to detect the parameters with Ayurvedic concepts as you are stated Panchmahabhuta, Tridosha, Saptadhatu, Mala, Samanya-vishesha , Prakruti etc. and there is a urge of evaluation of Ayurvedic formulations with modern concepts to stand in a International market and to get the valuable applause.
b) While evaluation of rasa (taste), veerya (Hot and cold), and vipak (post-digestive) effects are also be evaluated by the only modern techniques in animals.
c) As per Ayurveda..all the products were taken as a polyherbal or minero herbal combinations and at the end of the result if it show the beneficial effect we are able to conclude the product is having the beneficial effect. But coming to individual plant, so many plants are published on internet to treat the Cancer and Diabetes and finally if those work went to the clinical stage and almost 98 + were failed due to improper evaluation in conventional method of evaluation (preclinical). So, now a days researchers are mainly focusing on already established formulation to prove it's efficacy using modern techniques.
d) Meanwhile, if we want to go for the evaluation of preparations, we have to follow the ethical guidelines such as CPCSEA, ICMR, OECD, Schedule Y and ARRIVE guidelines to get the approval and to publish it in a international journals.
if we follow the Ayurvedic concepts we can't able to conclude the result as per statistical methods.
Lastly, as per your suggestion we have to come forward to prove the Ayurvedic concepts & needs to prepare the SOP's for those preparations which are traditional, complementary and alternative (CAM) and indigenous treatments. And as I came from a M.S. Pharmacology & Toxicology with modern medicine concepts not much aware of Ayurvedic concepts, but the evaluation of our indigenous methods of treatment always relishes me.
And as you are stated the Kartiey tyagi name and I'm not much aware about this name and his works, could you please explain me.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanking you for such a wise explanation of Ayurvedic concepts.
a)Ayurvedic preaparations are but natural it need not do experiment on animals. If this preaparation is mentoined in Ayurvedic literature it means it is studied and since long back it is useful. Just we are going to proove by modern tecniqes.Because we need internationaly aprooval. Is it necessory? We are doing research on the searched knowledge , which are studied in human body. other thing is that there is no commercial attitude in Ayurveda. We Indians are not doing reseach on basic concepts of Ayurveda with the help of modern techniqes to stand in international market. For this we need interactions between all subject experts becuase Ayurveda is a interdisciplinary science.Modern science developed very well no dout about it but Whats about our science? Why we are not developing our parameters with our basic concepts. The Pharamacists like you come forward to study Ayurvedic pharmacology.
b) Before going to evaluate please go for details concepts of Guna, Rasa,Veerya, Vipaka and Prabhav because it is very simple to translate the Ayurvedic words in modern but the meaning is totally different According to me it is also prooved in human being not on animals. Let me know how you are going to proove these concepts with modern techniqes in animals. Accordinr to me it is difficult and challengeble.
c)I am very much thankful to you taht you agree with me. The base of Ayurveda is NATURE means what is in the nature it is in our body and what is in our body it is the nature. If nature changes we have to change otherwise diaesases are occure. So only four things i.e. Plant, Mineralrs, Seamaterials and animal produts are used to treat diseases.Today single plant and also in combination so many study have been done but till there is no any response Why? Not only the improper evalution so many things are there. Researchers are focusing on established formulation to proove efficacy with modern techq. But you are using modern parameters which are not able to suit for the formulations mentioned in Ayurvedic lit.
d) Modern ethics are made with modern concepts which are important because the base is fixed by modern scientists.Just like we Indians using Ayurvedic base we also made some parameters or some stages for research what we call reseach methdology and also it is possible to make some ethical base for this but it is impossible according to some scientists but remember nothing is immpossible in the world.
E) Any how u are in service of Doothpapeshwar. According to my opnion if the ayurvedic formulation is from Ayurvedic literature go for pretreatment and then for post treatment but according to me you will surely find that efficacy is more in pretreatment.Wish you all the best.
