Hi all,

I ran my RNA gel (formaldehyde gel containing MOPS buffer) to check the integrity of ribosomal RNA isolated from primary mouse hepatocytes. The 18s and 28s bands are good, which may indicate that my RNA samples are fine. Surprisingly I found an increase in ribosomal RNA mobility in the gel (which may imply a decrease in size so that the rRNA runs faster in the gel) in drug-treated group. Unfortunately the RNA marker disappeared, therefore I couldn't estimate the exact size shift.

I found an article which also discovered the size shift of rRNA, however, the experimental group displayed a decrease in rRNA mobility in the gel, thus authors intepreted that the drug may increase the size of rRNA by binding to it.

Does anyone have idea on this issue? Thanks in advance :-)
