Objective is to isolate MicroRNA from zebrafish embryo and tissues, and run a transcriptome analysis on it. Most published literature on zebrafish seems to use Trizol based total RNA isolation method. There are also some kits such as mirVANA for specifically isolating the microRNA. I am looking for a kit or a method that is efficient and also cost-effective for my purpose. Would you suggest that total RNA isolation with Trizol is good enough or should I go with microRNA specific kits.
