Hi all,
I need to take two plasmids with me to Scotland for my research work. This question seems very stupid in this group. If I add 10 ul of a plasmid on a filter paper, dry them at RT and keep the filter paper in a ziplock plastic bag,should the plasmid be fine? Is it mandatory to cover them with aluminum foil? I am being skeptical with security issues. I also have few aliquots in small epps. I am planning to keep them in the check in luggage. Am I doing right? Any advice would be much appreciated.
yoy may send them by mail in an envelope. if you carry them with you what i do not get is the aluminium foil. for what?, ie no aluminium foil. why do you want to carry more than one sample per plasmid? ie carry only one sample (dried on paper) per plasmid
Just cut the peice of filter paper where your plasmid is and simply carry them each in individual eppendorfs. else the dried filters with the plamsid drops can also be put in fresh zip-locks.

Hi Ayoob, Thanks for your advice. I obviously can not be a jack of all trades like you.Therefore, I need peoples' advice. If you do not have the answer,you really do not need to share your philosophy. It seems your research is giving you so much problems which are reflected everywhere.
