For and experiment I would like to place Drosophila on standard food suppelemented with 20% coconutoil.

As described in other papers, the vials can be kept at 25°C. Unfortunatly my flies die due to the greasiness of the oil, their wings stick together and they just stick to the bottom of thevial.

I've tried giving them a "feeding island" with a piece of filterpaper on the food, but this just absorbs the fat and they die anyway.

Any advice?
