I am new to electrodialysis membrane modeling, I am working on CFD modeling ion exchange membranes for peptides separation.
I have confused that during the process will the peptide move toward an anion-selective membrane or cation-selective membrane in ion-exchange membrane electrodialysis?
Or I will divide into ions (COO-) and (N+(CH3)3).
And also how will I need to find its diffusion coefficient.

The anion exchange membranes have a positive surface charge and let pass negative ion, molecule and species. In contrast, the cation exchange membranes have a negative surface charge and let pass positive ions, molecules and species.

In my opinion, the passing of peptides from the ion exchange membrane is mainly dependent on the pH of the peptide solution. Because this material is made of amino acid so the isoelectric pH of these materials is is clear; therefore, if the pH is below isoelectric pH, the peptides have a positive surface charge and consequently, they pass through of cation exchange membrane but, if the solution pH is above isoelectric pH, the peptides have a negative surface charge and consequently they pass through of anion exchange membrane.
