I'm developing novel cancer drug utilizing Patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse.

Currently, I am obtaining human tumor tissue samples from domestic hospitals for my research. But I countered big problem.

After I transplant tissue samples on mice subcutaneously, the human tumor generates abscess within 1 months. Do you have any idea why the tumor is not stable and is being damaged?

I guess that, because of BALB/c-nude mouse has B cell and innate immune cells, although these cells do not have full-function, the transplanted tumor can be attacked.

However, when I have used NSG mouse instead of BALB/c-nude mouse, the tumor did not grow within 6 months and transplanted mice were dead.

How often do such incidents take place?

I appreciate your interest. Thank you. :)
