I am still looking for CFD simulations of real scale industrial gas fired heaters with direct multi-flame impingement used for the heating of billets before extruding. If any one knows about such works I would appreciate if he/she can share it.

Linde has published some work on their so-called DFI technology (direct flame impingement), usually in the context of oxy-fuel combustion in the metals industries. I don't know though if any of their publications include CFD simulations though.
