I am researching whether postpartum risk assessment scales are adequately measuring all risk variables that contribute to crimes of maternal infanticide.
you can think of using the PHQ-9 (patient health questionaire) .its a self administered version for common mental disorders. it can be used with postpartum women as it has a link with DSM-IV criteria. when i did my literature search on risk factors of postpartum depression among arab women i read about the PHQ-9 tool.may be it would help you.
Our lab uses the CES-D (prenatal) in addition to the EPDS (postpartum) to assess depression. The CES-D is nice because it is brief and is used in many studies which increases your ability to compare findings with other studies. While it is not specifically designed from postpartum depression, we have found that the scores are quite strongly related between the CES-D and EPDS.
An instrument developed in Sweden measures feelings of security during the early postnatal period "Parent's Postnatal Sense of Security" and has been shown to be significantly correlated with the EPDS (in press).
