Hi,
I, conveying on behalf of a small group of life science researcher, wish to create a non-commercial web site (www.conceptbiology.com) to simplify concepts in life sciences.
Why?
We are quite aware of the fact that most of the biological e-resources available are more informative rather than concept clearing. Our team, being a group of young researcher, understands the need of conceptualizing the subject, for the sake of knowledge, scientific advancement as well as building career.
How?
This web site would serve as a platform to visualize and understand the subject through interactive notes, animations and assignments. To achieve this we need your voluntary contribution. We want active support from young scholars, researchers and scientists in helping us build a strong all in one concept clearing platform.
We are still a very small group and thus want active participations from researchers and scientists where they can help contribute something in their respective field of study. I hope for engagements from many colleagues and faculties to help make this initiative meaningful. Your suggestions and advice is needed and would be highly appreciated.

I would suggest adding or utilizing modern molecular modeling to look at either ligand promiscuity (1 ligand, 2 targets) as a function of active site physical/chemical characteristics. Or, even more simplified, just at proteins with bound ligand.
My first exposure to molecular modeling was astounding, and helped cement the idea of looking at 3D chemical structure as a function of specificity/activity.
This can also be achieved easily through freeware (Pymol or VMD) and published crystal structures on PDB.
It may also help in defining macromolecule characteristics like DNA double helix,
or A vs B vs Z DNA similarities and differences.
Pymol would allow for movie making, if you want a more "dynamic" setup.
Thanks Kelly for your views. Pymol or VMD may be looked into for 3D explanation of molecular structures. We will surely incorporate that. It would be great to have you in our group and your valuable contribution in 3D structure modelling would be of great help in taking this initiative ahead.

I would gladly participate, my research area is both pharmacology and toxicology from different point of views. Utilization of vast number of methods in order to provide a better understating of the activity of some known or unknown substance/plant derived mixture.
That's a very good initiative. I wish to be a part of it. Im interested in biochemistry and to reason each functionality or problem we know how explanation from chemistry perspective becomes important. Same stands true for Biochemistry in explaining the chemistry of life...
