I'm currently working with Michael Ukaenwe on ABA cladding, a new variant of laser cladding recently developed at The University of Nottingham with John Powell and Kóti Dániel. We're now considering looking at different material combinations, with one material for the A clads and a different material for the B clads. So far we've looked at SS316, 4340, IN625 and S90V tool steel and are interested in exploring other material combinations. If you've got a suggested combination of materials you would be interested in us exploring, or are interested in other related work on this just get in contact, iron oxide and aluminium powder is not an option! Details of our open access papers on this are as below. Procedia CIRP Volume 111, 2022, Pages 205-209 Improving laser cladding productivity with ‘ABA’ cladding Daniel Koti, John Powell, K.T.
