One of our suppliers introduced me to Cultrex® BME PathClear and Geltrex® Matrix as the alternatives to matrigel. I was wondering as if anybody has experience of using these products?
I noticed your question, however I think the title deserves a bit of a wider response. There are multiple Matrigel alternatives, not only the ones which you have listed.
There are more defined hydrogel systems which allow for a control over the hydrogel in which cells are embedded, where I would argue Cellendes (https://www.cellendes.com/) and HyStem (https://esibio.com/index.php/hystem-c-hydrogels/) are competent, well established systems. Alternatively, if you want to embed cells in a less defined, but more specific environment like one derived from specific tissues, Xylyx (https://xylyxbio.com/products/) offers a wide variety of different products to suit those needs.
I have to admit however, I am biased as our company also offers a Matrigel alternative, which is both defined and specific (https://www.denovomatrix.com/products/screenmatrix). I hope my answer helps you make the most informed decision for your cell culture!
